Who is Brian Kenyon
Brian Kenyon was a beloved father, a cherished friend to many, and a prominent figure in the cybersecurity industry. Brian's career, spanning over two decades, saw him on the executive teams of legendary companies such as Foundstone, McAfee, Bluecoat, and Symantec. Most recently, Brian was a founding team member and the Chief Strategy Officer at Island, the creator of the world’s first Enterprise Browser.
Brian's impact on the cybersecurity industry was profound. His intelligence and creativity were key to the development of many foundational elements within the industry. Known for his unique problem-solving abilities, Brian was a valued team member and a natural leader. His mentorship left a lasting impression on many of his colleagues.
Tragically, Brian passed away on February 9, 2024, leaving a significant void in the cybersecurity community. In honor of Brian’s legacy, the Brian M. Kenyon Memorial Cybersecurity Endowed Scholarship has been established at the Auburn University College of Engineering. This scholarship is a perfect intersection for Brian’s passion for cybersecurity and his daughter Lauren's love for Auburn University. Once fully funded, the scholarship will provide multiple annual awards in perpetuity, ensuring Brian’s name and contributions to the industry are remembered for generations. Your tax-deductible contributions will go directly to this effort ensuring the endowment level can be achieved to ensure annual funding for multiple students.
